GOAL #1: Minimize the severity and the duration of an attack.

Our initial attack is not to focus on trying to prevent the panic attack from ever happening; rather, our attack will be to first minimize the severity and the duration of the attack.

To obtain your freedom, you’re going to have to learn how to control your reaction to what is happening

FYI – When there are earthquakes in the natural world, they are always followed by aftershocks. When you have a panic attack, especially depending on the severity of it, there’s also a tendency to have aftershocks.

Gaining your freedom from anxiety disorders takes a little time, patience, practice, and persistence but it is well worth the effort!

Let’s review: You fuel harmful negative thoughts by meditating on them, which gives them substance. When you entertain the negative harmful thoughts often enough, you create a pattern for those thoughts to follow. The reason that a person finds it so hard to control their thoughts is that they have actually created a rut, a pattern for those thoughts to follow. It gets to the point where a person is incapable of thinking differently than the thought pattern or rut that is established.

The way you take thoughts captive is to speak out loud words opposed to the way you are thinking. Your mind must stop thinking to see what your mouth has to say.

You don’t feed the thought by entertaining it, by meditating on it; you take the thought captive by speaking words out loud that contradict the harmful thought. Over time, harmful thought patterns will eventually be filled in by truth so that thoughts will not always be held hostage to end up at the same harmful conclusion

By speaking words that we choose to believe, that go against the way we feel, we are beginning to learn the process of disrupting harmful thought patterns. We are also beginning the process of creating a new “mindset.”

Here is an example of what can be a harmful thought process.

“I can’t breathe my chest is tight, I am short of breath!” Does this sound familiar?  So many people have this complaint, but extensive testing finds nothing to be wrong.  Then they search for other causes for their symptoms the breathing and other ailments as well.   Just being anxious over this symptom can cause your pulse to change can cause other secondary symptoms caused by shallow by  rapid breathing of anxiety. Below listed under the principals for derailing panic attacks /anxiety. It reminds you that repetition in of utmost importance! How many times EX: how many time have you thought about , or stated , or feared that you are not breathing correctly despite all medical tests proving there is no problem? That is the kind of repetition you are up against. So if you add a cue to your relearning to change your mindset the new good habit develops faster. If you speak out loud, I repeat, the mind has to stop thinking to see see what your mind has to say.

Anxiety can cause tightness in the chest and loss of breath. Health anxiety comes in all flavors from one or two related symptoms to a barrage of concerns that can not be validated by  medical testing.

An example of speaking out loud in this case would be :

“The doctors have found nothing wrong with my lungs, or my heart. In fact, all body systems are working in perfect order. This symptom is caused by anxiety. I am taking back control of my life.  These symptoms will leave me.

It is not necessary to have these exact words but something that works for you. You are retraining your brain and changing your mindset. You must be repetitive, relentless, and really want to be symptom free. If you tend to promote self-pity that it will not be as effective until you make the decision to not be held captive by any anxiety disorder.

REMEMBER these Principals for derailing Panic Attacks:

  • You must create a new mindset and build mental barriers on old bad habits.
  • Repetition is key!  Do not give up too soon —  it may take you 18 days, 33 days, 61 days….?
  • Cues make the new habits stick faster.    Start off with an initial cue. Read the last 3 blog posts.  Having an initial cue is a crucial component.
  • Quicker and more effective relearning takes place when you stick to a pattern to follow. Work out a game plan write down your responses about what you desire.  Choose how you want to feel. How you feel will drive your thoughts.
  • Speak out loud that which has been proven to be a lie.  Positive results from complete physical will remove speculation.
We are getting more people asking about the promises of God and how they can lead them to freedom.   Here is a link and below are 2 verses that will help explain what we are currently discussing.
