HOPE DURING THE HOLIDAYS

We often hear people tell us they are overwhelmed and have lost hope of ever being happy again. This is a message is written for you. Do not let the bag of despair become overwhelming, filled with negative thinking, full of failure. Let hope, and a list of your goals outweigh all from your past.

The world has its share of challenges that are difficult or seemingly impossible. Many undesirable situations confront people every day.   If a person has hope, then they can summon the courage to face their fear.

Hope is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to events and circumstances in one’s life or the world at large. As a verb, its definitions include: “expect with confidence” and “to cherish a desire with anticipation.” Wikipedia

Hope encourages and allows a person to seek out opportunities to improve their life. Hope is motivational!  When hopeful your mind searches for an outcome or opportunities that will make your life better. Hope gives you the strength and fortitude needed to overcome an unbearable or undesirable situation.

Hope just as people comes in all shapes and sizes.  One can hope for many things at one time.  But our brain tends to categorize them separately. This allows you to prioritize what can make the most difference.  Hope comes in different degrees and often a person gravitates to those things that seem easier to obtain.  They let doubt bury issues that are often the most important.  Some people secretly have hope but cover it with a mask.  This prevents their true desires from “emoting”. Their breakthrough is thus hidden behind the mask they wear. This mask often has only slits for eyeholes, thus preventing the wearer to see the good that is before them.

Hope can motivate you to place yourself in the situation most likely to bring about the change you desire.   Some lose hope in some areas of their lives and remain stagnant, i.e., accepting of where they are. However, it is said that even envisioning a situation in a positive light can give you a moment of happiness. Happiness allows you to see clearly enough to set goals. Just thinking about what you hope for opens your ability to strategize to set and reach out to new goals.

Hope is NOT – is wishful thinking or just “wanting something”. I have heard it said it is not just a feel-good emotion.  Hope is more about a change in your cognition.

Hope is motivational.

Self Help for life has a good article on – The importance of Hope and how to create it in your life.

In the Bible – Hope is the confident expectation of what God has promised and its strength in His faithfulness. Below are 2 links that will help you understand.

Hope During Loneliness  -Troy Black

A letter to Anyone Who feels like Giving Up  -Tiffany Parker

Troy Black was one of those people who has been through it all. Taken from his site he describes himself and his book, MY MESS…

It’s the story of how I was trapped in sin, struggling with pornography, fighting addictions, completely alone, living for myself, and not caring who I hurt in the process.  (He offers a free e-book download.)

Tiffany Parker’s message is written to those who are frustrated.  For those who dream of a good and effective life. One full of  joy: She has written a letter to those who are frustrated. For those of you who dream of a good life, an effective life, a joyful life; stay hopeful.

Hope is never really lost it is just displaced!
